Moon and Jupiter

Well, for some silly reason, my camera was not cooperating with me for last night when the Moon and Jupiter were in really close proximity to each other (otherwise known as a conjunction). I managed to get a half- decent shot, but only one unfortunately.

  1. BUMMER!!!! Still, cool shot! You only need the one, eh? There were thin clouds interfering with my shot. In ever other direction the sky was clear, of course.

    I feel your pain.

  2. Thanks for the comment. I was really disappointed by the way my camera was performing (rather, not performing) this weekend. If my camera had cooperated, I would have had 40 really good shots.

  3. Great shot Colin, to bad about your camera, there is always tonight, I will be out all night hoping for a break in the clouds, it is supposed to be clear between 11-2am, 2am when the Moon and Pleiades set. How is your 2.5 telextender working for you?

  4. Well, I have to take my camera to the repair shop to get looked at. If it needs warranty repairs, I have to send it to New York, because that's where I bought it from. The teleconverter is good. Did you check with Cheng's to see what they have for your camera? Mine is a 1.5x, but I think they have a 2x that will work with yours.

  5. Sorry I meant the 1.5. I am going to call tomorrow see if I can't pick one up.

  6. I happen to be going to Cheng's tomorrow and can pick up a converter if you want. Just let me know. Give me a shout on my cell if you want me to do that. Let me know if you need my phone number again.

  7. Thanks but I just picked up one today, they had the 1.5 for the Canon. Tried it out on my 300mm, just outside on some far away tress, quite a difference.
